I host a regular radio show entitled "Eyes Wide Open" on KWMR, West Marin Community Radio, every other Monday, from 8 to 10 am. KWMR can be heard only in West Marin (Muir Beach, Stinson Beach, Bolinas, Olema, Point Reyes Station, Inverness, Marshall, Tomales, and the San Gerononimo Valley.) Coverage also extends along the Sonoma Coast, and the western fringes of coastal San Francisco.
However, anyone can also listen to the show on-line at www.kwmr.org.
My main interviews occur at 8:45 am. Recent guests include Catherine Caufield of Environmental Action of West Marin, author Jessica Prentice (who is part of the locovore food movement), and Shannon Biggs of the Global Exchange. The fall, I also featured Nina Simons of Bioneers, and author Erik Davis, whose most recent book is the beautiful The Visionary State: A Journey Through California's Spiritual Landscape.
My partner in crime Catherine Broomhead usually comes on at about 9:30 am to talk about food, wine and her native France. She runs her own food catering business. If you reside in the San Francisco Bay Area -- and you need a caterer focused on developing recipes featuring local, organic foods prepared in a Franco-Californian manner -- contact her at Madame683@aol.com. Her website is: www.ktskitchen.us.com.
If you want to call-in to request a song, or ask a question of a guest, you can try these call-in phone numbers: (415) 663-8492 or (415) 663-8317.
I also do commentaries on other radio stations, including KQED, a public radio station based in San Francisco. I have also been on National Public Radio, and have made numerous appearances on other radio stations while promoting my books and being involved in public education campaigns involving current events and political advocacy campaigns.
